Morning came, Layla woke up bright and early, and decided that today is the day that Ashe should get her first rite to breed, She knew she was ready. Today was colder then usual, so she thought that Ice Fishing would fit perfect for the weather. She went down to the big stables were Ashe and all the other Toko's were sound asleep, she woke them all up with breakfast and started to prepare for Ashe's long day ahead.
Once it was ready to leave, she took Ashe out and got her ready, strapping her tack on and packing some water, and other important supplies. They set off, nice and early so they could spend the whole day fishing.. It was a long travel, but Ashe was excited, so the trip was very quick and easy. Once they reached a fine spot to start she met up with one of the first tokotas, Nanook, he was there to witness Ashe getting her Rite of Merit also judging her performance. Layla took Ashe's tack off and got a big bucket ready to put all her fish that she catches into the bucket. She set a timer then once everything was ready, Ashe quickly dove into the hole in the ice, Nanook watched her every move, Layla was very confident that Ashe was going to do very well, within a few moments Ashe jumped out of the water with a massive Salmon in her maw, she dropped it into the bucket and went straight back in to catch more.. This went on for some time until time was up. Nanook seemed impressed by her performance, He gave the two a nod, then padded off. Ashe and Layla noticed that the sun was going down and it may be a bad idea to travel home now, so they decided to camp in a nearby cave. Layla quickly packed up all the things and headed over to make camp.
"It's been a long day" Layla spoke softly, brushing her fingers through Ashe's mane. The two looked out of the cold, deep cave that they laid within, the sound of the night creatures was the only sound they could hear besides their own breathe, It was a quiet night, their day was exhausting, Ashe doing her first rite, The Rite Of Merit.. Slowly they fell asleep together, Ashe was laying close to Layla, Although there was a small fire, Ashe felt the need to cuddle her handler and keep her warm, and safe.
